Only time I ever noticed hard restarts on a hot motor that would result with a kick back and, sometimes even flames coming from the thottle body was on my wifes’s 2012 superlow
That turned out to be a faulty oltahe reg.
I’m totally aware that engines in general will build up pressure. An unavoidable circumstance by default that engineers overcome by addind relief systems. So I assume all motors maybe not smaller engines?, come equipped with something to manage pressure.
And I’m guessing it makes no difference if motors are naturally aspirated or FI?

Sometime the kick back bug is your timing. If you have adj ignition set it to kick mode. I have 11:3-1 woods 9B and no compression releases. It doesn't kick back cold or hot. My CCP is 225 waaayyyy to high.

I'm guessing voltage regulator.

I swung by Southern Cycle a little while ago. The top end is back together and the W6H is in. They ran it through a couple heat cycles. Jim for Head Hoggers is going to break it in on the Dyno this afternoon.

This is what the KB pistons that came out looked like in only 13,000 miles.

Here's the heads all cleaned up.

Damn that's a lot of carbon build up!!!!!!!!!!
Do you have your heads vented to the back of the carb or atmosphere?
