Pretty sure he meant the PM to me. I received one from him offering me a 97' ECM. Solid dude!

Should have it by the end of the week. Guess this changes things. Power Commander V now in the equation.

Yes, 70 in the rear but I don't know what the front is. I bought the bike with the Baker DD6 already installed. The bike is stored off-site so I can't verify what the front pully is. May go peek at it this week.

From what you gentlemen are telling me the EV-13 sounds like the cam for me.

Stock compression, heavy bike, .86 6th gear, think you need to not talk yourself out of the EV13, the 6th gear .86 pretty much makes the decision easy. Light bike is EV27 area or more compression with the big bike can work a EV27.

Personally since you have the DD6, wouldn't waste any money on the 80" and put a S&S 111" in because those 2 would be peanut butter and jelly together, the DD6 is made for horsepower.

S&S 111 would be nice but paying for two weddings this year so that's out of the question. Also saving up for a second bike, (Rushmore Ultra) so don't want to break the bank for the Evo just yet. Some day though.

Just trying to spend your money, older PC3 and PC5 are good products.

Default Ev cams

I'm not bagging on anyone's preference either way but I do have some first hand knowledge. If you look at the EV cams the 27 in particular it has a long intake duration which requires more abrupt ramp angles. This lifts and drops valves pretty agressivly causing noticeable valve train noise through the very short intake runners..... I installed one this fall and after several weeks of wrestling with valve adjustment trying to eliminate that noise I saw that S&S has N grind lift angles with 508 overall all lift but gyrations in the mid 215 216 range instead of the 240 range. This achieves simular air flow with a quieter valve train. I'm a 28 year technician with more than a few engine builds under my belt. Its been my practice to do the homework
lots of cams put there I found that the EV 27 though the most recommended evolution cam was not to my liking. Food for thought

EV27 can be noisy, how deep did you have lifters set? Correct valve springs? Good oil system? Cam chest clearance? Not debating your experience with the cam, several of us are aware of the EV27 - W6 clatter and run more aggressive cams than those but from experience they can be tamed.

I have the EV27 cam, when I installed it I replaced the lifters(Fueling), push rods(OEM), rockers, everything that could be replaced on top of the head, and I don't notice any excessive noise, but then I have nothing to compare it to.
