Regulator fried my stater?

I have seen bad regulators fry batteries but not stators.
I'll bet the regulator is good and the stator was the problem.. remember a regulator will get hot... And could melt the packing (insulator) out make sure you have a good ground... You going with a complete Cycle Electric?

Will see what cycle electric will do for me today.

Another possibility is the stator connector at the block gets soft from exposure to heat, primary oil, age etc and the actual metal connector pins can move possibly causing the stator to short. Maybe when you changed the regulator the pins moved?
Guess it don’t matter now.
I know now there has been plenty of burned/melted contact pins because of this problem as well. YD
