To me, that case chip looks like a great excuse to go V111

Permatex Ultra Grey does the same job without the slight miss match the gasket thickness will give you.

back in the early 80s we did a 6 cylinder dart engine overhaul for a shop loner - when we came back in on a Monday the engine was laying on the floor as the slant 6 was not happy staying on the engine stand - the oil filter housing that is attached to the block broke off - JB weld was actually a new product back then so we used a copper tube for the oil holes and glued it back on the engine - had nothing to loose - we used the car for 5 maybe 6 years and sold it to one of the guys in the shop who took it to calif

my story about jb weld been a believer since

Default Case saver gasket and O-ring

Hi all! Im putting my '93 Evo back together with a cometic case saver gasket on the inner primary. Can anyone advise if the O-ring is still used in conjunction with the case saver gasket or is the O-ring omitted? Thanks, AJ.

Welcome to the Forum
It is always best to start a new thread for each new question
While I haven't used the case saver gasket I would think you don't need the o-ring if you use the gasket.

That JB weld steel stuff will work better if you throw it as far away from your bike as possible. I have NEVER had any luck with anything that had JB on the tube.

The steelstick does dry very hard, but in 42 yrs. of custom metalwork, I think a like-metal fix is the only good fix. Tried jb several times, never happy with results. Just my zero cents worth. Ken

No, that's the point of the case-saver gasket. Use the gasket, or RTV (which I would go with instead of a gasket), and toss the o-ring.
