Add Primary Fluid through the inspection port?
Okay, this may be a really stupid question, but here goes. I recently replaced my inspection cover gasket after making a tensioner adjustment. So, that gasket is pretty fresh and can be reused.
However, the bike has had a slow (very slow) leak somewhere in the primary, most likely in the primary cover gasket. Since I'm not changing the primary fluid, but only adding a little, can I just do that through the inspection port opening? I actually have a clutch cover gasket, but I don't want to have to use it yet until I actually change the primary fluid.
Will that work?

It will work, but how will you see the level? You're supposed to fill the primary until the oil level covers the lower edge of the spring plate about +1/8-1/4" with the bike level.
I still use the o-ring for my clutch cover instead of the later gasket. I can't remember how many years/oil changes its been through and still works.
