Default Evo Road King

Hi everyone, I finally got an Evo Road King to go with my streetglide.
Got $3200 in it to get it home, it's a 98 classic, so now getting it right I have a rocker box leak on front and a spot lamp lens cracked.
Probably gonna be hanging out here learning more about working on evo motors.

Sounds like a good deal and Welcome ... the items you mentioned are easy fixes. You will find a lot of good people and information here.

I'll be the first to mention ... if you don't already have a Factory Service Manual for your bike and year you may want to pick one up ... it holds a wealth of information and will pay for itself the first time you use it.

The spot lamps are sealed bulbs so you will need to replace the bulb ... the lens is not separate. Rocker Box gasket replacement requires you to remove or lift the tank to get access. If you remove the tank the front crossover tube is fun to deal with ... I've put quick connectors in both of my Evo's. The Factory Manual spells out all the steps to correcting both of your problems.

Last year for the Evo RK, got a good one. Might find out you will like to ride it more than the Street Glide, it does happen often

Damn nice looking ride and sounds like a real good price!
Do an eBay search for LED passing lamps and headlight. For less than a $100 you can upgrade to the LED lights, they just don’t have HD stamped on them.
That rocker box leak won’t be too tough to fix.
Welcome and enjoy that ride!

PS: These guys will help you spend your money really well on that bike!

As previously mentioned the passing lamp is a complete bulb so you will have to replace it.
When you replace the rockerbox gaskets make sure you check each layer for warping.
Warping is a common problem in EVO rocker boxes.

Yeah, that's a deal. And since you're in for the rocker boxes, it is about time for the lifters to be replaced and that inner cam bearing, so I'd do it all at once.
