I have a 98 Road King FLHPI and read that the Police bikes have a bigger cam over other 98 Road Kings.

My question is can you tell me the difference,mechanically or electronically, between the FLHPI and the FLHR?

By starting with an on-line parts website, which will show differences like the cams you mention and other spec differences. I don't see a different cam mentioned, but I suspect some Police and other units had their bikes built to their own specs.

 

Has always been myths of the RK police bikes and no information backing up anything different. Don't know in stone if the cam is different but would not anything significant, put a Andrews EV13 in it and know you have a improvement.

Do know that some of the police bikes had the lower primary gearing and not the 3.15 in normal touring bikes.

Police bike topics is something that doesn't pop up in a Google search, we have found a loop hole in the modern world, did find info on primary gearing years ago on line.
