Hi Guys,

I've got a 94 road king that goes on a few cross country trips a year... she is getting up there in miles, and starting to wear out her engine sprocket.

I'm curious if I can swap to the -98 clutch hub and gain the ease of clutch replacement vs investing in the compressor tool. Added side benefit of a lighter pull.

Anyone know if the sprocket alignments are the same? Will I need to replace anything to do with the push rod?

I don't know the specifics of a swap like that, but I can tell you that my '98 FLTR came with the Twinkie clutch.

 

'97 was the last year that you need the tool

 

I used an Energy One package with replacement plates and the clutch tool. It included enough plates to discard the spring loaded section in the center of the clutch pack which is a potential failure point. Effort is easy and the clutch is smooth.

 

The Twin Cam clutch will fit on a post-91 Evo
