Default Bike has a lot of vibration on idle with new motor mount.

I have been noticing since the new Drag Specialties motor mount went in the bike has a lot more vibration. It do notice that it calms down when you get down the road but it bad on idle. I have been reading that this will calm down as the new mount breaks in about 500-1000 miles or so. Any thoughts on this? I also just replaced the dog bone bolt behind the mount(never figured why it was never there to begin with.)

Maybe something is in a bind. Try loosening all the mounting bolts then slowly retighten each of them gradually.

Is the the new mount polyurethane?

When you installed the front mount, did you start the bike and let it "settle" into place before tightening the bolts? This procedure seems to help the vibration. The vibration may be less when the mount settles.

I noticed less vibration after about 750 miles, not Drag Specialities, but HD replacement. Noticeable in the footboards.

It's labeled as urethane but close

Urethane is harder than rubber. While it will last longer than rubber, it doesn't absorb as much vibration. This is usually more evident with risers.

So this is normal? I figured urethane needed break in time to soften up

Did you check both the upper and lower stabilizers/dogbones? The rod ends like to freeze up...if they are not completely free, they will transmit vibration.

Well Joe you might just have to bite the bullet and fill up the tank and get on the highway and head out about 250 miles or so and then turn around and come back. That way you can get to the break in point or get use to it the way it is. See no worries.
