Tour Pak to Backrest Conversion 93 FLHS
As handy as the Tour Pak is I would rather go from this (my bike):
To something like this that I found on the net:
Hope it was okay to link that.
What part numbers do I need or what can I use? Will I need to remount anything such as license plate mount other mounts?
Can this be done with just bolt and unbolt or does it necessitate welding or major fabrication?
Some of this may seem elementary school stuff to some of you, but it's new space to me.
Thanks.

Tourpak unbolts, luggage rack bolts on. Passenger pad bolts to rack. License plate remains in the present location.
Your biggest problem is going to be finding the luggage rack. I believe The MoCo obsoleted that part. So swapmeets or eBay. Might check with a dealership and see if there is one in stock somewhere in the CONUS.
Luggage Rack part number: 53405-87B

Appreciate the info all.
QC, not so sure about international shipping myself. One more thing to read up on I guess. If you find the rack and rest drop me a PM about it.
I still have to keep a backrest on the bike for the wife to ride. And I like being able to put a small soft bag on there.

Our bikes were designed and built before some of the current fashions were invented! We in turn have to be inventive to upgrade in the modern style. It is possible to add a later spec qd rack, which should open up possibilities for adding a backrest. We have chaps around in here who have done that.

As cold hearted this bike is on startup even in South Texas summers I may just sell or trade it towards something else. Love riding it solo on the backroads. Enjoy commuting the short hop to work except for the fact it takes longer to warm up than it does to get to work adding about 5 miles to the commute. Even the guys who have serviced the bike long before I got it talk about what a bear it is.
But, if I do the change out I'll give you a heads up and be gentle as the shopkeepers in Cairo, Egypt used to say. If someone is gentle with me getting the rack/rest I'll be sure to pass it on with the tour pak.

Just had the 10K and more done by a reputable shop who also build custom bikes. They've done the services on it for years. Mine has a S&S carb on it and a mid range cam done some time back by the previous owner.
I swung back by the dealer the day after and they tweaked the idle a little. The owner makes a face and says it's one of the most cold hearted bikes he's seen. Once she's warmed up finally she purrs and runs just fine. I may still go looking for the idle adjust on the carb and keeping fiddling to a minimum try to tweak it slightly. But not until I have some visuals and have studied the S&S carb a little. First I have to find out which S&S it has.
I still find it an interesting thing that the water cooled bike is a fire up and ride bike and the air cooled bike is the one that needs all the warm up.
P.S. Currently once warmed the bike idles around 800/900 rpm.
