Default Primary Chain

If a primary chain is a little tight, slightly less than a 1/2", in 200 miles will it stretch so much to the extent it's shot?

No but it will be damn hard to find neutral.

I suggest you find the tight spot on the chain and set it according to your FSM.

I've had great luck with my hydraulic tensioner.

Thumbs up

My Hayden M6 has also been fine. I agree with Texas about not riding with a tight chain.

I've had good service with Hayden M6 in the past. Going to install one in this bike.

I plan to buy one as well when I find a cheap used one on eBay. Can you get this in without removing the primary cover? Doesn't look like it but wasn't sure if it still could be done.

You need to remove the old one to replace with the M6 - I can't imagine it is possible to do that without removing the primary cover.
