The last few were hard to get out in mine also ... clean it out real good and you shouldn't have a problem ...

It's going to take a lot more wear than just some witness marks to cause you a problem

found it!
pulled the clutch plates last night and the spring plate was missing half the rivets just as suggested. thanks guys
any suggestions on which kit to buy
The spring plate gives you a wider friction zone on the clutch lever than running straight plates and steels.
That said if mine ever goes out I will not be replacing it either.
