Default Electrical issue

I'm having an issue with my right turn signal on my 95 softail when lights are on. The light functions only when I use the turn signal. The bulb is fine as I tried it on the other side and vice versa. I know it was working yesterday and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with a new battery I installed today. I wasn't thinking and connected the positive terminal before the negative....could that have caused the issue??? Just wondered which way to go on troubleshooting, everything else on bike is functioning normal. Thanks

I don't think the new battery has anything to do with the light. I guess you are talking about the right front running light not working. I would start by checking for power to the running light at the bulb socket since you already checked the bulb.

That means your power wire for the running light is messed up in some way.

Ok, so I removed the whole assembly, and it sure enough the wire was severed. So easy fix. But now I'm totally stumped and frustrated. Everything was perfect until I noticed no turn signal last night ( which wasn't the original problem). So this morning I took it back off and inspected everything. What I've got now is just a slow and faint flash. My logic says the asembly coincidentally went out. Any suggestions where to go from here as I'd like to rule out having to locate another entire light assembly. I appreciate any advice, thanks.

That could cause it.

So everything is working now right?
