Default Question for you clean freaks

A couple years ago I had the bike detailed (it was cheap and the guy was right there).

He had some stuff that he sprayed on the dead bugs and they melted right off!!
The problem is he wouldn't tell me what it was.

Any of y'all have any idea???

Probably cleaning the clean off his new bike.

Used to work at a detail shop many years ago, the only thing I know of that strong and not affect paint is tar remover, when sprayed on tar it would start melting it off. The tar remover was clear and came from a commercial detail vendor, also used it on cars that was rust proofed to remove the over spray from the paint

I use a product called "Bugslide". It's a cleaner, polish, bug remover. Been using it for about 5 years. It just sprays on. You can contact Gale's Sales
www.galessales.com. Some bugs do stick a little but it's good stuff and a great detailer for a quick wipeoff after every ride.

The dirt I don't mind.
It's the bug guts all over the windshield that I'm getting tired of.

Spray with Hydrogen peroxide, let sit a sec, wipe down, spray again if necessary, then go over with a good spray polish, all using good microfiber cloths. H2O2 is cheap, cheap, cheap, and melts the bugs away. Just make sure that's not the only cleaner you use.

I use plain water on wet cloth let stand a minute and wipe off. I do understand there is a short supply of water in texas.
