Question? when your cruising say 65-70ish in 5 gear and your tach is reading 2800 + or -, does your AFR go way low to like 10.8-11?

No matter what build I ever had in this bike mine always did and I thought it was the transition to main jet causing it but every thing I did with the external Air bleed never changed that...

One thing I found out as you mentioned a while back was where you motor was happy, according to the Wego. Which I believe you said 12.6-13.2. I tried to lean mine out from those numbers and the ramp decreased dramatically.... Running 13.2 is great for the down low....... And at this point I'm not to worried about mpg..... I think I get more smiles per gallon than miles... LOL....
Ya, my AFR's stay consistent in cruise at 65-70, doesn't drop, the carb should still be on the low jet at that rpm's. Don't know why yours is doing that?

13.2 is the target at WOT and you may want to try 13.2 at cruise with the compression, it will always be in it's power zone and ready to go plus safe. I have the big block at 12.6 WOT and bounces 12.6-12.8 in cruise, it can burn the fuel and not going to melt it down for a few mpg

Have a 120 T jet and can't remember the air bleed for sure but believe 180

Since I've had the Wego the AFR's at 2800-3000 always dropped to 10.6 cruising.. and didn't start to clear up till about 3100.... I just don't understand why the changing of the jets on the external air bleed never did anything with that , that I could see....

The setup is like this. I plugged the internal air bleed as stated in the S&S directions (inside the bowl) and drilled and tapped for the external. I also plugged the bowl vent on the face of the carb so the atmospheric pressure in the bowl will not be affected by the opening of the throttle plate (EPA fumes ****). The bowl vent is open to atmosphere, it was drilled on the bottom of the passage and is no longer affected by the opening of the throttle plate.

Is there anything wrong with what I did there?

Thanx Bagger, I'll keep going at the tune and as you, it's not about mileage at this point.... If everything goes right my bike will be on the Dyno on Monday June 12th...

Do you have a hose on the overflow fitting?
If the fitting is open to the wind, it can cause more or less than atmospheric pressure on the fuel in the bowl,
same for the bowl vent that was moved out of the a/c assy,.

xiii. Overflow hose missing from the carb bowl can cause engine to
miss and break up at high speeds. This problem will more than
likely not occur on the dyno because the motorcycle is not moving
through the air

Yea, Thanx Schex. I do have a tube on the overflow going all the way down to the shocks. As for the bowl vent it's been drilled below the original vent and is behind the backing plate so there shouldn't be any interference there...

Thinking about why your so rich in the cruise range, and the air bleed adjustment not making a difference,
I see on the XXX carb site,
http://xxxcarburetors.com/exchangecarbpage.html, that they have a fuel bowl service, could it be drawing fuel from the accel pump circuit?

FUEL BOWL SERVICE: ACCELERATOR PUMP NOZZLE OPENING IS ENLARGED, THE NOZZLE TUBE IS
GIVEN A NEW AIR BLEED AND THE PUMP COVER IS MACHINED FOR A NEW REPLACEABLE CHECK BALL
SEAT. THESE MODS HELP GIVE QUICKER ACCELERATION AND PREVENT ENGINE ROUGHNESS BETWEEN
2000 AND 25OO RPM.

Not sure if that is causing my problem but I do know that I replaced the check ball, spring and accelerator pump diagram not long ago... Maybe 5k miles... But it's possible it's still sucking fuel. Maybe on the Dyno I will be able to check it.
