Even though I like my CV, I have to agree with much of what THC is saying. My pop's 95 Wide Glide w/Super E starts much easier (same compression). Also, my CV's choke is broken and I have occasional intake leaks. It seems logical to me that the Super E would have better throttle response since it doesn't have to move that slide and butterfly like the CV does.

I am keeping my CV though in case I want to go back. Here in Cali I hold on to whatever I can get my hands on.

For my shopping list I guess I need a rebuild kit, an intake manifold, a intake spacer, a K&N filter, throttle cable guide for stock cables (or new throttle cables?). Is there anything obvious that I am missing?

Thanks guys.

What year model bike did the carb come from?
If it is a '92 or newer you don't need a new cable guide.

I used my stock cables on mine before I had to get longer cables because I added apes to my bikes.

You may have to reroute the cables but stock ones will work fine.

It came from my buddies garage. No idea where he got it.

The carb looks appears to be in excellent shape so it can't be that old.

You can order a new carb with the old bracket so age of the carb doesn't really help.

Got any picts????

Save yourself some $ and skip the k&n filter. The s&s replacement is an oiled gauze filter just like a k&n and it's only $20.

That carb is pre '12 and it has the correct cable guide for your bike.
