Default 1999 Fat Boy

Hello all! It has been a long time since I've posted. Always have been a lurker. Anyways thought I would show off my new to me 99 Fat Boy in sinister blue. The bike only has 17000ish miles! I've always wanted an evo and finally got my chance. I traded in an 04 Fat Boy to get this. So far this is definitely the coolest bike I've ever had! Although I'm not too crazy about the hypercharger.

What do y'all think?1999 Fat Boy-img_0078.jpg

Thanks everyone! I will certainly do something about the hypercharger...I was somewhat skeptical of getting an evo since I had been used to the counter balance motors. I will say after spending some 200 miles with her, I really enjoy the way the evo feels. Around 45 and 55 mph is the sweet spot. It actually feels like a real machine. I can definitely see always having a spot in the stable for this bike!

I was already planning to check on the cam bearing and replacing if necessary. While I'm already inside that part of the motor, I really like to upgrade the cam. Do the cams have any identifying marks to differentiate between a stock cam and aftermarket? Didn't want to upgrade the cam if it already has a good one installed. The past history of the bike is unknown.

If your opening it up change the lifters and cam bearings anyway. yes cam's are ID.

If that's your sweet spot then I'm willing to bet a lot of money you have a stock cam.

nice bike...I have a 99 Fatboy too, it had just under 18K on it when I got it. the previous owner put spoke wheels on it so those will eventually go. I had a V rod for solo riding an used the Fatboy when riding with the GF on back.....I put an ev 3010 cam in an it woke it up enough I sold the V rod...I left the lifters in...I'll change those once I get above 30K...eventually I want 10:1 compression pistons or at a minimum thinner head gaskets to give it a little bump.
