Never know what a PO did till you start going through a new to you bike. Heater hose. Looks like it's working ok, but bars are still eating into the bags in a couple places.

Anybody use hose or anything other than HD supports for bag support?

It looks like you need to adjust the upper bag mounts on the bike so that the bags sit more forward. Also interesting that the PO just hacked off the bag guards.

Yeah, that doesn't look good. I wonder how much strength that piece is supposed to provide. On mine, the actual bag attachment bolts are pretty much worthless, and all the support comes from the bar.

At least he use Made in USA hose!!

Are those the original bags? How far is that gap? It's like they aren't even close to being lined up:

You should get rid of the lowering blocks.

That saddlebag was not sitting on the bar correctly. It was sitting on top of the bar instead of down in the right place.

Yeah it's got some minor issues. Workin em out. Orig bags, hacked guards (or aftermarket guard eliminators, pretty clean cut for hacked). I'm looking for stock guards. Has lowering shocks and blocks, sits pretty low but rides good no bottoming looks good and I ride solo so might leave em. Dude I got it from complained it sat too high for him, so I guess he tried lowering it at some point. It's all good. Some stock parts and adjustments and good to go.

It was suggested that you get rid of the lowering blocks because they have been known to cause broken swingarms. Leave them on at your own risk.
