sounds good, It can actually be a loose connection some where that is created by higher rpm's......

A question for the masses please.
What kind of signal or pulse does the reed produce??

I know the problem presents with the bike setting still with some RPM.
If the signal wire (auto cancel) coming from the speedo to the TSM is intermittently grounding even with no signal (cause the bike is setting still) cause a problem.

Seems like this wire would not affect the hazards like it would the signals ??

WP

Kinda thinking the reed or its wiring would only affect the auto cancel not anything else Never mind

I don't know if this might help, but if you go to H-D Service Information Portal you can get access to "Wiring Diagrams & Electrical Troubleshooting Guide - 1995 & 1996 All Models" by clicking on the "Search" button on the top right of the page and then typing "1995 Wiring" in the search box. It should be the #1 item in the search results. It has a section on the Turn Signal Module that might be useful.
Also by clicking on the "crossed arrows" on the top right of the page, it will enlarge the page and make it like a PDF file. Then you can zoom in & out which can be helpful when going cross-eyed looking at wiring diagrams. There's also a print option but I haven't tried that yet.

Edit: 98Hotrod ... you can search "1998 Wiring" and get similar info.

The TSM is the most sophisticated part on our carbonated Evo's. AND,,,, AND..... as cheap as it is I would think most of us would have a spare anyways just to keep us from a long drawn out thread as to what it could be, let alone the brain racking...

Nothing personal here just a different way of looking at the problem. Like I said earlier my Left signal is very temperamental, sort of like my wife. Works when it wants to. So why not just throw $60 bucks at her!!! LOL.... "Happy wife, Happy life"........

Would you believe carbureted perhaps???

I already put in a new TSM and it didn't help at all which is why I'm still at this.

I still think it's the reed switch in the speedo.

It isn't the reed switch.
I unplugged the green/white wire and I still have the problem.
