Seller says he doesn't know if it's OEM or aftermarket. Definitely looks like the right part, and the dent on the side seems pretty slight.

Thinking that might be the way to go.

Why aren't you repainting your existing tins instead of buying replacements and repainting them?

Well, that was my original plan. But then I got to thinking...

Since this is my first time painting a bike, I'd be less nervous painting replacements in case I really screw it up.

Also, I can take my time and wait to disassemble my bike until I'm totally done with the new tins.

And, my tins are in pretty great shape, so I sort of hate to paint over them when I know someone could use the whole set.
