An alternative to consider, for reduced lever pressure, is the AIM VPC. Rather like the Rivera it uses centrifugal bob-weights to apply increased pressure at speed, while using a softer than stock clutch spring. I have one, but haven't installed it yet.

pulled the primary today on the new donor bike and was somewhat surprised to find a Primo in there with a variable spring plate.

I think that the basket is also a Primo though I can't find anything in their catalog resembling this. If I had to guess this is a 94-97 setup judging by the 36 tooth basket. clutch pack looks like it will fit 90-97 oem harley clutch basket. I have the matching comp sprocket off this bike also (was not running a comp eliminator) so I am not worried about the primary ratio.

but here's the thing- the whole assembly is a lot taller than the stock setup. even with out the variable plate it sits a lot taller. I don't have my inner primary on yet because I'm still waiting on my trans sprocket so I cannot check the clearances. everything is in pristine shape.

Any thoughts? drag specialties states that this hub/variable plate will fit in the OEM primary. So I may have to end up pulling the hub and putting that in the OEM clutch basket. What do you guys think?

I'm running the Rivera set up, you only need a spacer that moves the Derby cover out and a inner and outer gasket

Your going to like that 113", that's a sweet spot for ***** and longevity on S&S motors. Compression releases recommended depending which cam it has.
