Default will this clutch kit work for when upgrading main shaft?

does a ultima performance clutch kit
http://www.ebay.com/itm/232073337287...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

have everything needed when upgrading a late 80's transmission main shaft to a 91 and up shaft, as far as the clutch? or is the kit missing something to complete the clutch to a newer style?

I would assume you would use the original clutch basket. Is that for a wet clutch set up? Judging by the black anodized cover i would think it was for a dry belt set up. You might want to do a little more research....

It's for a wet clutch, but would I need a new basket or will my 89 work?

If it lists for 90-97 I would think 89 would be out of the question. Seeing the early trans were a tapered shaft, I would imagine the basket would be different as well. You can try calling Jireh cycels (http://www.jirehcycles.com/) @877-681-0448 who is Ultima''s product division. Better luck with Jireh, I have called them before and they actually did help me to solve my issue with my Ultima 6 speed.. One thing to ask is what is the clutch hub is made of. Stay away from Aluminum clutch hubs, the clutch steels will wear it out rather quickly. Also if you have a hi performance motor you really could us a clutch pack with Kevlar friction plates... Best bet is to call Baker Drive train @ 517-339-3835 and ask for Mark. He'll set you straight....

It's just for a 80". Was thinking about doing the 6spd builders kit Need to upgrade the clutch to use it. And I'd like to get the newer style while I'm at it anyway
