Default Help, With Rocker Arm Bushing

I'm installing new EV237 cam, new lifters, new push rods, new rocker arm shafts, and new rocker arm bearings/bushing. The bushings are to small to get the rocker arm shafts in. Do the bushings have to be reamed or honed like a valve guide?

Yep, they need to be reamed to fit. You install the bushings in the rocker arms then ream.

Do they make these for EVO's? I could only find reference to TwinCams on their site.

Don't confuse rocker arm bushings with rocker shaft inserts. The bushings the OP was asking about go inside the rocker arms & over the rocker shafts, they need to be reamed for correct fitment. Rocker shaft inserts go over the rocker support bolts to keep the shafts from rocking back & forth & tapping against the bolts. No reaming of any kind is needed with rocker shaft inserts.

I do have them for EVO engines, just not on my website. PM me for ordering details if interested.

I got the new EV27 cam, Fueling lifters, new push rods in place, the old bushings out of the rockers, found a machine shop that can ream the bushings, and the new bushings have not made to me, they are on back order from Harley Davidson, due in on Sept. 9th. Nothing ever goes as planned.

Just a thought....

You can buy the complete rocker arm from Boardtracker online for $39. By the time you buy the bushings & pay to have them reamed it might be worthwhile?

Also, make sure the machine shop knows what they're doing. The reamer needs to be piloted so the bushings get reamed in alignment. That's why there is a special reamer for the job.

I don't believe that Rocker Lockers are necessary for Evo's. I tried a set and could not even get them started if the bolt hole. I'm sending them to GlidenWide today...

As for the Rocker bushings, It's a rare occurrence that they wear out. Listen to Rockout, If your that worried about them just replace the entire rocker....

Anything that moves will wear out eventually, one of mine did. The new bushings are $1.50 each, so $3.00 per rocker.
