Default 92 ultra glide controls

has anyone swapped out the control on a 92 ultra? im looking to eliminate the cruise, ppt, and radio control buttons. i pulled the tour pack, installed a back rest, will keep the tour pack for long trips. want to replace the radio with a newer one..

not afraid of wiring just dont' know what model control won't have them features on them? im new to harleys

Look here. In 1992 probably the Electra Glide Sport (which I think evolved into the Road King) did not have a radio or cruise.

My Electra Glide still has the radio controls on the bars as well. Since my bar swap, the wires are gone, but the switches are still there.

If I understand it correctly, you should be able to swap out the lower housings with ones that don't have the extra controls... Like ones off of an FXR or an FXSTC. If you can find them.

That's on my someday list.

If you don't have one yet, get yourself a factory service manual. It covers both FLHS and the other models and will help you see how they differ from each other, hence help you do what you want.

been looking for a service book for my bike but cant seem to find one anyplace

There is no need to look - your local dealer can supply them, may even have one in stock! In fact a new one is often cheaper than secondhand ones.

Assumed fxr was different then an flh

It is but the one book covers 91-92 Touring and FXR.

I think it was only when the Dyna FXD came out that they were given separate books.
