Default Idle adjustment

1997 FLHTC E GLIDE.
Motor will not idle more than a minute or two, even when hot. Is there an adjustment? Running strong otherwise, however every once in awhile I crack the throttle quick I'll get a "pop" like a gasp for air then back to normal. Any help?

Its running out of fuel. Popping indicates a lean condition. Adjusting the idle speed will not help if it idles normally for a minute or or two.
Check:
Float level
Fuel screen on petcock
Fuel cap for proper venting
Dirty carburetor/ clogged jets

It only does it now a then, I now know what to look for thanks. Would the lean condition cause the low idle also?

And check for intake seal leaks, too. The intake seals are prone to drying out & cracking. When that happens they leak.

VOES. Intermittent failure. I'd rule that out first you can do it without pull it it apart with an ohm meter and wiring diagram so you know what pins to probe on the harness

EFI or carb?
It's a good place to start.
