Default Primary chain adjuster shoe

I have a 1994 Ultra Classic. About a month ago I replace the primary chain tensioner shoe. In that time I have put about two thousand miles on the bike. I then begin to hear chatter from my primary chain. I opened it up to see that the shoe was eating away. What could be my problem?

Factory service manual is always good to have, but in the absence of that, most Evo guys will be happy to help you out.

It is a great tool to have in your tool chest and it pays for itself the first time you use it.
That said get a Factory Service manual not a Haynes or Clymer.

^This is very important^
When adjusting the primary chain the adjustment is checked at the tightest spot & it's best to keep them on the loose side of the factory specification. Too tight of a chain or even a drive belt can ruin lots of stuff quickly.
