Running a 19" cast wheel on a Wide Glide front end
I had the idea of running a 19" cast wheel on a Wide Glide front end. I can make spacers, so that isn't an issue. My concern is that the cast "hub" is about 2 inches narrower than the stock hub for a spoke front wheel. It seems to me that bringing the load in that much may result in an over load on the front axle. A sharp impact such as a pothole may cause the axle to bend. I also thought about the axle flexing during turns.
I don't remember having seen a narrow glide wheel on a Wide Glide front end. Surely I am not the first to think of it.
What say you?
