New clutch cable adjustment issue, loose
Previous owner had my '96 fxdwg set up with foot clutch. I swapped with new controls and a new clutch cable. Can't for the life of me get the cable to tighten up and give me clutch pressure. Tried the following:
- adjusting clutch nut several times per spec
- positioning and checking of ramp & ball assembly, cable attachment assembly
Keeping the cable as upright as possible inside the tranny cover.
- adjustment of cable barrel every which way.
Wondering if there is something missing inside the cover or in the tranny pushrod area? Angry help is appreciated.

Those would be way too long for a foot clutch I would think.
Granted I have no experience with a foot clutch but I think you would need a shorter cable to run one.

I've adjusted the clutch basket to spec and even a little tight several times to try and get some cable tension, nothing seems to work so far.

Was the clutch working before, if so that shouldn't be a problem after it is adjusted properly? If you are moving it back to the hand do you have the correct/stock lever perch bracket? Cable lengths are for shorter or taller bars, the amount of adjustment range should be consistent.
