With my Heritage, I have to remove the jiffy stand/shifter mount from the bike to be able to remove the shifter shaft to replace the bushings. IIRC, the lever was always loose and rattly, even from new, so I'm not expecting the new bushings to improve the situation. For that reason, I haven't done mine yet.

If you have a Heritage, be careful. I have a 2000 Heritage Springer, and the toe-heel shift arm measures .560 The Factory lists a 33708-94 bushing, which measures .664 x .575 Built in slop. It was so bad, I brought my digital caliper to a local machine shop for verification.

I recently slipped in a correct thickness washer to pick up the slack on the left to right play ,feels good now.

Perfect timing. The splined shaft is stripped for my heel shifter and I came on here to verify if I could remove it without pulling the primary. Thank you for sharing.

I managed to get mine out easily enough with a 3/8 drive extension.
The female end was exactly the right diameter. Struck the male end with the hammer.
Used a bolt and washers to gently insert the new ones!
