I know I don't know jack but the plug looks like you could advance the timing a hair and richen the fuel a hair. Lean condition makes a hotter engine specially in summer, could also make it ping on take off. I don't see much for carbon on first couple threads either.

There is no vacuum or intake leak. I replaced those gaskets awhile back but went ahead and checked using propane and carb cleaner. Damn my bike is running great. I hate to mess with it . Do you guys think I will damage it if I continue to run it as-is with the lean front cylinder? You would think if it was running that lean, it would be popping through the carb, surging, or something. Right?

Anyone else want to chime in before I pull the carb again? It has been suggested that I need to shim the needle to richen it up. Its running great but, appears to be running too lean on the front cylinder. Is this the general consensus here or should I leave it alone?

LOL. You just had to bring that up....
Seriously, I just dont want to punch a hole in a piston if you guys think its running too lean.

Ok Schexe3X, I added 2 shims as you suggested. It still runs perfect and maybe slightly peppier in the midrange but it could be my imagination. I took it out for about 60 miles I can see some color on the base ring now as well as a very light tan on the electrode, I think you may have nailed it. I actually got 1 more mile per gallon so, Im at 48 mpg. Case close. Im done. Thanks!

I wonder when the wheel bearings were greased last????

I really think it's time to have a good look at the swingarm bearings.

OK boys and girls. Stay tuned next week for wheel bearing packing! Seals are on the way from Boardtracker That will give me a few days for the family jewels to heal from all of the b@ll-busting!

That's all well and good, but those neck bearings aren't going to adjust themselves...
