Late model saddlebags on a 94 Heritage?

![Question](https://www.hdforums.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I searched to see if this had been covered, but couldn't find it. I have a 94 Heritage Special (Nostalgia) that could use some dressing up. My bags (standard Heritage bags) are cracked and curled despite liberal amounts of Neatsfoot and Mink Oil. The Nostalgia bags are hard to find, and the standard Heritage bags are often in worse shape than what I have. I realize new brackets would be necessary, but otherwise, will newer (96-up) bags fit my bike? Is there a chart online that shows parts cross fit? Forgive me if this has been asked, but I couldn't find it.

I don't know the answer to that, but Boss Bags makes good bags of various styles and sizes.. They tend to be expensive though.
Saggy Bags makes reinforcements including glue on plastic that stiffen and flatten things up for an affordable price.
Another good option I have seen is people putting Road King Classic bags on a Heritage. They are basically hard bags covered in leather. You need adapters to make them work.

I have a '94 FLSTN like yours. What bags you can run depends on the exhaust system you have. The stock "shotgun" system limits your choices somewhat. That's the main reason I got rid of it.
For years I ran some very nice panhead reproduction bags from Osprey Limited in Mass. A few years back I decided I wanted some hard bags (I got tired of the time-consuming maintenance of the leather bags), so I went with the old style "bubble" bag reproductions from BB Reproductions. A small outfit in PA. Super easy to deal with and exceptional quality and service. I highly recommend them.
You can see the "bubble" bags on the bike in my avatar.
