Hey guys I have a clutch slipping, I haven't opened it up yet but I would like to order a new one before I get in there to have on hand. When ordering it shows Kevlar, steel and organic plates. Any suggestions ?

 

Last year I put a Screamin Eagle heavy duty clutch in my '97. It does away with the spring plate and and locks up strong! It;s the same clutch they put in the Police bikes. I am unsure what it is made of.

 

I put Barnett kevlar in mine.

 

That's what I was leaning towards was the Barnett Kevlar, did you order just the plates ?

 

My steels were fine so I just got the kevlar plates.

 

That's what I ordered, extra-plate kit of frictions and steels.

 

Been running the energy 1 kit in mine with a 15% stronger spring and it's working great. Put it in a few weeks ago and have almost 2k on it as we speak.

 

Ran the same clutch behind the 89" engine. is a good clutch, purchased the clutch tool with it that made the install a breeze

 

I made my own tool for a few bucks, but I won't post it here. Not Harley approved and don't want to hear the arm chair mechanics bitch.
