Brake Squeal is Driving Me Nuts!

I can hear a little scratching when I spin the tire but, it could be the new rotors/pads. It doesnt drag. Im going to try to find some backing material at the parts store to go on the inboard pad that touches the piston. I really think its the cheesy oem rotors though.

I ended up rebuilding both front calipers with Drag Specialties seal kits. They come with new pistons and cost around $30.00. So far, my brakes are quiet and working better than ever. Had one hell of a time bleeding the system though, even with my Mityvac, but found that tapping on the calipers helps break up the air bubbles trapped inside. Fingers crossed....

I've never had any that I completely tore down an cleaned fail to work properly.
Glad you fixed it.

Thats what I was doing when I found that one of the pistons was scored. When I pulled the brake lever in, that piston would push the pad out at an angle. It was wedging inside the cylinder bore. I probably could have sanded and polished the marks out of it but, it would have always been in the back of my mind. Surprisingly, the calipers were very clean inside. I couldnt find any crud built up anywhere.

It's a lot more important to stop well that go fast.
Glad it worked out.
