What do you guys think of this bike?

Thanks for all the points raised. Mileage should be true as it has all the paper work from new with every mot, mot is an annual test that also records mileage. I'm sure of looking at bikes with intent to buy but I didn't know if there were anythings to look out for on an evo hence starting the thread. I must admit I didn't know about the tank swap etc so I will be looking into that a little more. I'm grateful for everyone's thoughts, thank you. I will let you guys know if she comes home with me.

I think the only thing I would change on it appearance wise would be the seat and the bags.
Functionally, I would do a compression test of both cylinders.
I would also go through the brake system thoroughly simply because of age.
I am not sure what year they stopped using the compliance fitting on the intake, but if it uses it, definitely check the condition of it, possibly retrofit it with the newer type.
No need to tear the carburetor apart unless there is a problem.
Take note of what the spark plugs look like. If they are not new, they can tell you a lot. Post pictures of them if you aren't sure how to read a spark plug and make a diagnosis based on that.

Those bags area great! I have a set on my 97 flht. The can hold way more than the stock hard bags, They are true HD bags that are abs on the bottom and back. The only issue I've had in the 15 years or so that I've had them is that one of tops started to sag. I fixed with some hot water and weights to press it flat again.
