Default Turn Signals Blink Too Slow

Ive found lots of threads about turn signals blinking too fast but, mine blink too slow. I'd guess the flash at a rate is a little more than once per second. I compared the blink rate to a couple of other Harleys and mine was notably slower. There is some kind of Badlands module in place of the oem turn signal module. Im not sure what the Badlands does but, when I bought the bike, it had 4 small LED turn signals on it. I have since replaced them with factory turn signals that use a 1187 bulb . They are actually running lights and turn signals. What should I do? Replace the Badlands with a factory module?

Yes.. the Badlands module is made for low current drawing led setups.

Or replace the 1187 bulb with a LED equivalent. This would preserve the look of the stock turn signals and avoid having to mess with the wiring. Custom Dynamics should be able to help you out with a cross reference replacement.

Now thats a good thought! I like the Badlands module because it is self cancelling. Are the 1157 LED's as bright as regular bulbs?

The nice thing about my 98 is that i put led's on the rear and the original module handled it no problem. Didn't have to upgrade anything. And I'll tell ya the led's are much better than the old 1157's even in the daytime... I like to be seen as well as heard......

I hear ya. a local indy had a couple of bullets in the case for a long time and after a couple years i finally asked him about them and he said 60 bucks. I gave it a shot and walla, I got lucky. Its hard to determine what is better than others. but I will say a unit with at least 18 led's. I have heard that the dc bayonet (1157 style socket) mount like your original directional's are, are not a good choice. Your better off getting an entire fixture... The ones I got are like 2" dia. and 2 1/2" long.

I would rather just change the bulb than the assembly. I see that Walmart has some LED 1157's. Anyone used them ?
