Default Clutch won't release

I have an 84 FXR that I just rebuilt. It has the old shovel primary and I am running it with the stock oiler system. I have a Sifton diaphragm clutch and just replaced the clutch friction plates with brand new Energy One wet/dry friction plates. I replaced them because when I bought the bike I could not get the clutch to disengage. I found out that the friction plates were dry plates and were saturated with oil. I soaked the new plates like it said to do in the instructions. Installed them correctly and adjusted the clutch correctly and still cannot get the clutch to work right. Can someone please help before I loose my mind?

Have you followed the adjustment procedure to the letter? Did you collapse the cable adjusters before setting the adjustment on the clutch itself?

if the front sprocket is not installed correctly ( it might be in too far or out too far ) when you pull the clutch lever in the clutch hub will walk out causing the the clutch not to disengage
