Default tail light 89 FLHS

A friend was following me and noticed I didn't have a stop light. Figured it was just the bulb so changed it with no luck. Chased the wires and they look good. Is there a hidden fuse or circuit I should look for? It doesn't matter if I use the front or rear break because neither work. All other electrical seems fine.
Thanks for any help.

Well Duh!
The stop light was on all the time. Just needed to adjust the hand lever to make sure it had good contact with switch mechanism, just like the manual says.
