Default Saddle bag brackets?

Got some road trips coming up, and need to get some bags.

1990 FXRS. I see two different kinds of brackets out there. Any experience with either style? Does it matter which one you get?

Good news is some PO already relocated my rear signals, so that's set. Just need to know which brackets to go with.

I'd go with more of the "A" type, but I think it would mostly depend on the bags you put on. The A type will probably support most bags. I've never seen the B type on anything. The bags would have to be pretty far back.

The more I look at it, I think "B" is the same thing as "A", just mounted wrong.

No it is pretty obvious that "B" is different than "A".
I would go with "A" myself.

On my wifes 89 heritage I took what could have been a A or B style and cut the rear end off and covered the sharp edge with black tape and reshaped it outward enough so the leather bags would stay safely outward of the wheel and rear drive pulley, have never had an issue.

A would keep the bags off of the shocks, B would not.
