Stator actually looks OK, but you can't tell by looking. That melted appearance is normal, if I recall correctly. Needs replaced anyway by the readings, so it's all academic.

When I suspected mine was going bad I found these at Amazon. Was going to upgrade to the 50amp if I had to do it. Turned out to have a loose connection at the stator.

Go OEM or the cycle electric. Given the nature of the failure, if you FEEL LUCKY, you might try going with a new OEM stator/rotor and keep your existing voltage regulator to save a few bucks. I generally don't recommend this, as it is usually something on the bike side that fries the regulator that fries the stator, but your magnet failed, so the regulator is probably OK.

due to delivery times im going with the CE-81A 3 phase kit

HD OEM $1100 CDN
China Junk $300-$700 CDN
CE-81A $590 CDN

Question , Do you think my problem with the M6 causing the chain to slap would have knocked the magnets loose ?

No.
The chain would have had to hit the rotor for it to knock the magnates loose.

All Done , just a plug for cycle electrics i put in there CE-81A 50 amp three phase system . All pieces needed were in the kit , instructions clear and easy to follow , all parts made in the USA and charging at 14.47 volts at idle as they claimed with the 3 phase unit it would charge at 14.5 at any rpm very please and highly recommended
