Great looking bike and great buy, especially if it only needs a fuel line.

Nice bike!

Question. Why do think the steering head bearings need to be replaced? I'm asking because I think mine are showing symptoms of failure. I get a slight wobble in the front end when traveling at high speeds on the highway. I'm not sure whats going on or how to check them. Thanks!

Had that wobble on mine it was the front tire, replaced it and haven't had the wobble since. Guess it was a cord?

I thought it was that or the wheel bearings. But I've replaced both to no avail. I Don't know. A friend suggested checking the fork oil. I think I may start there when I get some time.

Tell tale of steering head bearings is that the wobble will be present when the bike is either accelerating or decelerating, usually when you have little or no grip on the handlebars. Mine wobbles on decel, when you let go of the bars. They need to be reset.

Good news is, the fuel line isn't leaking anymore. Turns out the bike had sat for almost a year before it was traded in. Just dried out. Runs great but there is a little bit of an issue off idle, and the idle is sporadic dependent on the engine temp. Seems like it stays in high idle most of the time. Idles down rarely when it is warm. How many temperature sensors are there?

My '98 (also MMI) had one temp sensor in the chimney of the front jug. Lots on info on the forums about setting up the MMI system.

Search out posts by "IM". He is a wealth if MMI knowledge. If my ecm didn't crap out, I probably would have left it alone.
