Default Your Ultimate Bike Build ...

If money wasn't an issue and you had the opportunity build, from the ground up, an engine for your Evo what would you build?

I would have a stroker kit with a rumblesticks sidecar cam in it, stock compression and everything else....I just love low-mid range torque and buckets full of it.

Low and Mid Range Torque is what I am aiming for with my rebuild as well, but I suppose that depends on what you call med-range in terms of speeds.

Cool

Having owned my Evo from new:
  • I rode it stock for a while,
  • then did a basic stage 1,
  • followed by cam and ignition module,
  • 89" stroker kit, high CR pistons, cam, exhaust, etc,
  • 107" S&S engine with 2-into-1.
Each step has simply left me wanting a bit more! If I had the funds I would build a 124" low CR S&S engine, with the same cam as my 107", their 585. They sell crate twincams with that spec, I'm not sure if they sell an Evo equivalent. That might just about be enough......

I really wanted a 124" when shopping for my current engine, but my S&S dealer persuaded me against them at the time, for use in a bagger, as simply not a suitable application, but that was when they were only available in high CR and loud cam form. So it is unfinished business for me!

Reflecting on the 'ultimate' aspect of wombat's request I would add a Baker trans gear cluster, just because! A DD5 will be adequate, I'm not convinced of the need for more ratios. The rest of my bike will be pretty spot on once I finally finish it!

Probably this, since money's not an issue, just drop in another when it's used up.

350 to 500 Hp Turbo Orcas

You just can't outrun a turbo, its that simple. Even at 8 psi one of our Turbo (9.9:1 c.r.) ORCAS will put out 175hp and monstrous torque. Up the boost to 12 psi on our 350 hp unit and you'll be way, way past 200hp. The turbos will go past 30 psi and are available in 350hp and 500hp varieties. Do not confuse boost with airflow...we do not use stupid *** variable vane low cfm rated turbos that were meant for low speed diesels or snowmobiles! We move a lot of air at low boost without excessive backpressure which is why our turbos produce so much horsepower at low "boost" levels. Confuse boost with cfm of airflow and you will lose everytime. In case you're wondering how fast is fast...try these numbers 179mph @ 7.9 seconds in the quarter mile and 144mph @ 4.8 seconds in the 1/8th mile! We also make them for specialized drag racing motors that will go to 500hp but that has nothing to do with your street bike.

I am a simple man.
An S&S 111 would do it for me.

Mid range as in rpm...like massive stomp from 1500-3500 rpm.

FXRT. Baker DD6, and an Ultima 127 built correctly, ohlins stuff... fast cross country road burner basically. I'd probably kill it within the first 10k miles though... I can't own motorcycles like that.
