Ya, the Orca engines are another level.

If buying a complete engine and can get over the cost of a 2 cylinder engine costing 6 grand then I would vote for a S&S 124. It is full of potential with a compression bump, head work and probably the best engine that can reach max output in the right hands.

The Ultima 127 when trying to jump it up a level won't stay with the design of the S&S 124 and my info is from following major engine builders that do this for a living. Now there is a Ultima 131 posted in a dyno forum that put down 150 ft lbs of torque at 3500 rpm, that will get it done on a throttle roll on. Lets face it, when you start pushing over 150/150 on a street engine, stupid power starts becoming stupid power.

R&R engines are another custom engine that gets stupid, turbos on strong engines cross to giddyup and unlimited.

Started out with a Headquarters "system 85" which is an 0029 cam,springs, ignition, and their headwork. Claims 85 hp. Ran good but........not enough.

Next build, 10:1 Pistons, Woods 6H cam & springs, Dyna2ki ignition, fueling lifters, more massaging of heads. More kick, ran it for 10K. But.......not enough

Next build....SELL MOTOR, buy S&S crate 124 with IST ignition, wait 4 months for an RB racing pro stock pipe, and change trans pulley to 34T. Now were talkin!! Damn this thing screws....yippeee!!
But......not enough and it's the 1st week of December. Time to void a warranty!

Pull the heads, carb, cam, and ignition. Get a Dynatek 2Ki, and bring the heads to Hillside Machine for porting, bump compression to 11:3-1, Bore the carb, add a thunderjet. Buy a Woods 9F cam. Put it all back together. Did 150 miles last weekend and wow does it REV out to 5K quick and pull!! Daaaaaamn!!


So.....thats where I'm at with my dream motor......

Lesson learned, don't drop $$$ on an 80" EVO chasin big power. Just go big.

There is no substitute for cubic inches!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, the pattern of a addict that can't stop the demons in his brain

Was a garbage can housing a large engine involved in any process of this journey?

I would want a 124 in a fxr frame. If money wasn't an option. I almost have too many bikes now. Haha. Good problem to have
