I'm agree with a later trap door, if you change the shifter pawl to a late model you will also have to change the bushing and will now be forced to use a late model shift drum with the 1/8" drum pins. Or.......you can just get a shifter pawl from me and still be able to use a EVO drum and bushing with out worrying about the spring breaking.
