Default Footpeg Spring Help!

I know these sounds like a really dumb question, but... I bought some Used Kuryakyn Highway peg mounts for my bike and had a set of streamliner pegs in garage laying around I want to put on and for the life of me I can not get the peg on the mount with the spacer/spring whatever you want to call it. Peg wont tighten up enough without it so I need to get it in there. Any one have any tricks???

Tap it in with a hammer?

FWIW I have bought 3 things from Kuryakyn in the past.
Not one of them was worth a **** so I won't get a 4th.
I hope you have better luck.

You may or may not like but, RTV silicone on both sides where spring washer goes, bolt tight and clean up any excess and leave it for a day , no rattle and will give if need be,IF you can't get a shim in there.
You could file a little metal until it fits also.

If they are the round spring washers, they can be very frustrating and require the patience of Job to get them in and lined up.

I don't have the patience of Job, so I always use the spring washers that are flat on 3 sides. Still can take some patience, but much easier to use. You can pick some up at the HD dealer.
