I dont understand how your problem equates to " ovally worn cyls. " ?
I would firstly find out if and how your problem occured as descibed and go from there.
If the wrist pin clip is actually the culprit , you should not need a bottom end rebuild .
A replacement of the damaged cyl. etc. etc. should suffice if no metal particles are found in your oil filter.
Check for metal contamination throughout the engine first and then work back to the possible damage to the cyl., piston , bearings etc.
You might just get off lucky if you inspect everything and all is clear .
