I choose my exhaust systems on two criteria only...do I like how they look? and do I like how they sound?...power doesn't matter, a few HP one way or the other will not ruin my self-esteem.

Power may not mater, but torque does - I got 15% more by changing exhaust - that cannot be ignored!

I ignore it because I am not a numbers junkie, couldn't live with a fugly exhaust that sounded like a chainsaw though....

That's always been my criteria as well. Mine will never be in a street race as long as I own it so putting up with an ugly set of pipes that sound like crap in order to gain a few more hp and ft lbs of torque doesn't interest me.

When it comes to appearance, I really like the look of the stockers on mine.

But I really don't like the appearance of the crossover tube.

Everything I read says that true duals are a power-killer. Is that true?

I've seen these from "Cycle-Shack". I like them because they look stock, but without the crossover.

But they are suspiciously cheap (can you really buy an exhaust worth having for $225?), and I worry that the true duals setup will suck.

Any thoughts?

I bought Cycle Shacks to get me by until I could afford "better" pipes. I haven't replaced them. The money that was going to go toward the "better" exhaust went to new Progressive suspension front and rear instead. They perform better than stock, and they have a nice deep rumble.
