96 EVO 80cuin cam change
I recently bought a 96 FXST Softail and just about done with maintenance and mods. I am currently focusing in the GO department by replacing the cam with Andrews EV27.
The bike build https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...ting-carb.html and few engine mods that are complete:
o Modified CV carburetor by Killer motorcycles
o Replaced Screamin Eagle iridium plugs
o Replaced Screamin Eagle plug wires
o Serviced K&N air filter
o Modified air intake housing
o Replaced breather bolts by Sevin sin choppers
o Installed LSD radius exhaust with baffles and lollipops
o Replaced all fluids
Last time I was in the stealership for a spark plug wires, the lady in the counter took 30 minutes just to get the right item . I used the for part numbers but I am not certain if its for the 80cuin. Before I ask the parts personnel again for a "easy install, tapered pushrod," I humbly wanted to know the parts and part numbers for this project. Thanks in advance.
1. Andrews EV27 - 291127
2. Screamin Eagle push rods (Easy install, tapered, and chromoly) - ???
3. Torrington cam bearing - B138
4. Nose cone gasket -???
5. Screamin eagle ignition module -???
6. anything else I'm missing -???

I've done business with these guys with no problems. Plus they have alot of overhaul stuff for the 1340.

Also what about your roller lifters? Your going to replace them right? Check out Amazon for S&S stuff, you'll save alot compared to ebay and others. That's what I did and saved about 400 on my top end replacement. Good Luck......

80" experience
The EV27 is s good cam but l would definitely go with S&S for the lifters and pushrods and while your at it for $20 I would get the lifters spacers H2LT. SE ignition is good but a lot are going to the Dyna 2000i.
For the cam though I would go with a woods w6 it has a little more lift and overlap than the EV27. and with a.030 head gasket it will perform very nicely.. and its still a bolt in cam.
The thing I like best about the W6 is that it is a good base cam for various levels of builds, so if you start out with a little cash for a build do the cam and later you can do another stage like heads and when you get more cash you can add a bore job and pistons. Very versatile.....and capable of mid 80's for hp and low 90's for torque.
