Default Works Rear Shocks on my 98 Road King

After much contemplation and consideration, I opted for a set of works performance shocks for the rear of my Road King. I really wanted to get a set of Ohlins, but they were just a little bit out of my price range at that moment. The Progressive Shocks did not seem like a good option for me, although I know many people have used them successfully. The swap was very straightforward, of course.

Couple pics:

I'll post some stance pics when I get out for a ride tomorrow.

I passed on the Ohlins and went to Works for the same reason, and I don't regret it one bit.

You will think you are on a different scooter.

Single-rate springs, with Ricor Intiminators, which can be 'tuned' by fabrik8r's method to further improve them. I used Race Tech springs, there is a guide on their website to selecting the correct spring rate. Avoid progressive-rate springs IMHO.

I know Racetech well, so that's what it's going to be. Took her out for a ride yesterday, before the rain came, and boy what a difference. The rear end felt at once controlled and super plush. Just like when you mount a fresh Ohlins shock...

I forgot how well these Road Kings can handle...
