The weather has finally warmed enough to get the old Super Glide back in shape. Spanners, your tutorial was absolutely invaluable! Thanks for that.
A small point that I missed was putting the jackshaft coupler in backwards so the screw could not engage the threads. Had to take it all apart and start over. Otherwise I would have been done yesterday. I stumbled across a set of ball end Allen sockets, or wobble bits if you prefer, at a local cheapo tool house. Made the starter bolts much easier to deal with.


How about a belt?

Get a set of these. They'll make you happy.




It really is easier than it looks. Getting to 160 ft. lbs. with an old beam type 150# wrench takes some work.
