Hey Son of pms, sorry for your misfortune...would that ebay doodad have worked on your belt break?

Got a pic of the old belt?

Problem I have seen is, they very rarely break clean, more like a shredding. YD

I put a snazzy billet rear pulley on my bike. When my belt broke (clean) I inspected the pulley and found that the cogs had worn square, producing sharp edges. At 105 it sliced right through the belt. I went back to OEM and bought another for a spare.

I know they work on 03 ultra my brother had to use one last year we were about 150 miles from home a fellow rider stopped to help us out he gave it to us free even helped put it on one drawback you have to go slow if he went any faster than 40 it would vibrate violently we made it all the way home almost 5 hours later.
now I carry one with me anytime we go on a long ride.

I'm with the rest of the " never had a clean break " so it'd be questionable. I was having this discussion with a buddy the other day though. The only time I've ever had issues was when I said " I don't need the tool bag I'll be close " so it could be a good karma thing to have.

If you put a belt on just before it breaks wouldn't that just leave you with a new broken belt?
